Exercise
In this exercise, start by imagining yourself with a ball of light at the center of your heart. Imagine that a line of energy (you can use the wheel, spoke, and hub analogy) is extending from your heart above your head to another ball of light. This ball of light represents home, God, or your God Self.
Now imagine another line of light descending below your feet or the base of your spine. Connect this line to a ball of light at the center of the Earth. This represents the living consciousness of this planet, which also embodies Spirit, known by many as Gaia. This energetic connection that occurs above and below your body is your direct line to an unlimited source of nurturance, vitality, and love. You can recharge your body anytime by practicing this simple exercise.
Begin by practicing slow, deep breathing. Imagine this ball of light at your heart center turning into a column, about six to twelve inches wide. This column extends from the base of your spine to the top of your head. This column actually represents the energy centers in your body, also known as âchakras,â interconnected and now forming a solid column, one chakra. Now inhale deeply, and imagine feeling energy coming up from the center of the Earth to enhance this column of light in your body. Exhale deeply, and as you inhale again, imagine energy coming from above your head. Feel this energy enhance your column of light. Continue practicing this part of the exercise until you have a sense of feeling the energy. This usually takes five to ten minutes.
The next part of this exercise distributes this energy to every cell in your body. Again, inhale deeply and feel the energy coming from the center of the Earth, enhancing this column of light. Now, as you exhale, feel the energy expanding to every part of your body. Let yourself really enjoy how this feels to your whole body. When youâre ready, repeat the same process, bringing the energy down from above your head. Exhale and again feel the energy flow to every part of your body. Spend some time enjoying this energy, just basking in it.
Continue this exercise for several more minutes. With practice, it is not uncommon to feel your hands literally pulsating with energy. Throughout your day, use this exercise to replenish your vitality, and I highly recommend that you start your day making this connection. The simple intent to stay connected to your Spirit, your God Self, and Earth can change your life dramatically. With practice, you will be able to sense when you have disconnected yourself from Earth and/or your God Self. Learning to stay connected allows us to receive the abundance of love and vitality that this Earth and Spirit freely share with us.
